A couple weeks ago I wrote an article about the RAT team, its history, what we do, etc. on summitpost.com, a climbing website. It was picked by the editors to be spotlighted on the front page!! You can read it here www.summitpost.org/article/172226/amr-reach-and-treat-who-we-are-and-what-we-do.html ;D Then, today, when I got home and checked my e-mail, I found the following.
I thought it was very cool that members of AMR/EmCare/EMSC are finding out about us in other ways than thru company news.
Jesse,
Hey, imagine my surprise today, I'm browsing through one of my favorite mountain climbing sites (SummitPost.org) and there, smack on the front page, is a Featured Article about AMR! Great article, I liked the detailed history of the program... amazing that this is all done on a volunteer basis, and that there are so many volunteers!
I've been doing a bit of hiking here in Colorado, but I'm certainly not even close to the level of the guys on the RAT team, by any means. I've currently stuck to mere non-technical climbs on the 14ers, class 4 (YDS) at most... the girlfriend and I have done seventeen of the fifty-four CO 14ers to date. In all of my researching/browsing/beta-gathering/hiking in the CO Rockies, I've never run across any similar AMR program in Colorado, and was quite surprised to find one in OR... I need to ask around and find out if such a program exists here!
Great read, awesome to know that we have a program like this...
Thanks,
